CR&A Custom, Inc. collaborated with Hewlett-Packard to transform an emergency room at White Memorial Hospital in Boyle Heights. It was a unique project because they are the first company in the world to print and install HP’s newest substrate meant for highly trafficked areas, such as hospitals – the goal was to make an environment that would make a child in a potentially traumatic situation feel calmer, comfortable, and as though he isn’t sitting in a hospital. It ended up being called “The Aquarium” because of its underwater theme. To view a video about this project, click here.

Savings By Design is a statewide program that offers technical assistance and attractive incentives to promote long term energy efficiency. As much as $150,000 in Owner Incentives and $50,000 in Design Team Incentives per project can be realized. As a bonus, the Department of Water & Power is open to increasing the size of the Owner Incentive award to $500,000. There is no fee for owners or design teams to participate in the program.
