BUSINESS COMMUNITY INVITED TO MEET NEW 2007-08 NAWBO-LA AND ENTERPRISE INSTITUTE BOARDS: DEFINING OWNERSHIP, SUCCESS AND PROSPERITY
Installation Takes Place Sept. 25 at Millennium Biltmore Hotel
(LOS ANGELES) Los Angeles’ business community is invited to celebrate the rising power of women entrepreneurs and the growing impact of their leadership by attending the installation of the 2007-08 board members of the National Association of Woman Business Owners-Los Angeles Chapter ( NAWBO-LA) and the Enterprise Institute of NAWBO-LA. California Secretary of State Debra Bowen will officiate as installing officer.
The board members, notable for representing the diversity of the local business community, will take office during a 6-9 p.m. reception on Sept. 25 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Each year, NAWBO-LA – the region’s leading women’s business organization – and the Enterprise Institute – its tax-exempt charitable organization – attract a group of dynamic and diverse women entrepreneurs as leaders to help the organizations propel women business owners into economic, political and social spheres of power.
The annual board installation reception will draw from and embrace the Los Angeles entrepreneurial community at large with attendance from public dignitaries, corporate and community representatives and the fastest-growing segment of the nation’s economy – women business owners.
“The new Board of Directors will continue to establish NAWBO-LA as the preeminent organization of choice for women entrepreneurs and as the partner of choice for corporations and community organizations,” said NAWBO-LA CEO Helen Han .
She added, “For the Enterprise Institute, this year’s exemplary board will continue its outstanding work for the Legacy Society, which is committed to creating a place - virtual and physical - where all women entrepreneurs can access the resources they need to grow their businesses, wield their influence and effect change. In its first year, the Legacy Society reached its annual goal of raising $100,000 to match the unprecedented, $1-million challenge grant announced in 2006 by NAWBO-LA President-Emeritus Patty DeDominicof DeDominic & Associates.”

Added Enterprise Institute continuing chair Berkhemer-Credaire, “Through the success of the Legacy Society, we will continue to see opportunities to strengthen the infrastructure of NAWBO-LA and the Enterprise Institute, and to expand program offerings that propel women entrepreneurs into positions of leadership and power, while also building a legacy for the next generation of women entrepreneurs.”
