NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS-LOS ANGELES
(NAWBO-LA) APPLAUDS GOVERNOR'S NOMINATION OF TANI CANTIL-SAKAUYE FOR SUPREME
COURT CHIEF JUSTICE
(LOS ANGELES) July 23, 2010 - The Los Angeles Chapter of the
National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-LA) applauds Governor Schwarzenegger's
nomination of Honorable Tani Cantil-Sakauye for chief justice of the California
Supreme Court.
"The role of justice is uniquely different from legislation in that it
allows for interpretation of how we should administer governance. Interpretation
must consider the impact of the letter of the law with a balance of how we best
apply the law to the lives of people who start, grow and develop businesses
that support the tax base, employ citizens and make up the economic backbone
of our communities. The Governor's nomination of Justice Cantil-Sakauye; an
individual with a distinguished history as a bench holder and more notably,
an Asian-American woman chief justice, now, as a bench marker, speaks volumes
and promises for a fair and balanced system," said NAWBO-LA CEO, Jane Pak.
