NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS-LOS ANGELES (NAWBO-LA) LAUNCHES FIRST EVER COMPREHENSIVE SURVEY ON SMALL, MINORITY AND WOMEN’S BUSINESS OF LOS ANGELES

Leading Women’s Business Organization Launches First Comprehensive Survey on LA Based Women Owned Businesses

(LOS ANGELES) April 8, 2010 – The Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-LA) proudly announces the launching of the first comprehensive survey focusing on small, minority and women owned businesses of Greater Los Angeles. KH Consulting Group (KH) is conducting the survey on NAWBO-LA’s behalf. To ensure widespread input, NAWBO-LA has garnered the support and collaboration of the City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), and Counselors to America’s Small Business (SCORE) to assist with the dissemination of the survey throughout the region. The survey seeks to better understand the challenges facing the local business community in today’s economy, resources needed to succeed, and to determine whether there are any differences, based on size and status of business as women and minority owned.

“The Los Angeles region is home to the largest contingency of small, minority and women-owned businesses. With the state of the economy, the un- and under-employment rate in the area, and so many restrictions on access to capital, the needs of business owners have changed in dramatic ways. Our organization creates programming and services designed to support and strengthen the capacity of our members. The survey results will help shape the development of programming and services that will deliver the greatest benefit at a time when they are most needed,” said NAWBO-LA CEO, Jane Pak.

“The survey results will also be an important tool for NAWBO-LA to effectively advocate on behalf our community in the months and years ahead,” added NAWBO-LA President, Daphne Anneet. She also expressed her thanks to the KH Consulting Group team for conducting the survey.
