CEO Sought by NAWBO-LA

Highly regarded Los Angeles Chapter of the National Assn of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-LA) seeks a Chief Executive Officer to manage the membership association, corporate sponsor relationships, board relations, staff and annual budget for the 501(c)6 NAWBO-LA chapter, and the 501(c)3 charitable education non-profit, NAWBO-LA Enterprise Institute. Located in Downtown Los Angeles, NAWBO-LA is the only dues-paying organization dedicated to the advancement of 356,000 women business owners in LA County. The new CEO will continue the momentum of NAWBO-LA, grow membership, orchestrate programs, marketing and public relations that will realize the vision of the board of directors.

Experience required: previous Executive Director of a non-profit association with budget of $1M or more; managing corporate sponsor relationships; membership campaigns; fund-raising through individuals, grants and corporate giving; and understand the distinct education and research role of the Enterprise Institute. Track record of success in a highly visible public role, responsible for hands-on program implementation, management by objectives, and reporting to an active/involved board of directors.

Skills required: Must have financial/business acumen; ability to maintain infrastructure; team-building; marketing; understands uses of technology and media; good writer, verbal communicator and spokesperson; fund-raising expertise; knowledge of public policy, community relations and public relations. Previous business ownership would be a plus.

Attributes sought: High energy, enthusiastic personality, persuasive; “can-do attitude” with focused attention to detail; would enjoy working with active/involved board of successful women business owners; must be passionate about women’s financial independence through entrepreneurship; ability to be an effective external advocate for the organization’s mission and economic issues that affect women and girls.
