Frequently Asked Questions from Participants
Q: Will I receive a discount on every prescription I purchase?
A: The ChoiceRx Plan assures that you will be charged the lesser of the agreed
to discount price of your prescription or the lowest price the pharmacy has
available on that specific prescription drug that day. Although this occurs
infrequently, pharmacies do get special pricing from the drug manufacturers
that can be less than the agreed to pricing. When that happens, the participating
pharmacy has agreed to charge you that special price.
Q: What if the pharmacy I use does not recognize the ChoiceRx card?
A: Pharmacies work with many different plans so confusion may occur. Ask your
pharmacist to call the toll free number on the reverse side of your ChoiceRx
card to verify that they participate in the plan.
Q: Are all prescriptions covered?
A: ChoiceRx is an “open formulary” plan. That means that all prescriptions
are subject to the contracted discounts of the ChoiceRx Plan. This includes
all brand and generic drugs. For those who already have a pharmacy plan in their
health plan, the ChoiceRx plan can be used for prescriptions you and your doctor
prefer but that are not covered by your pharmacy plan’s “formulary”.
Q: Are all family members eligible to use the ChoiceRx card?
A: All immediate family members are eligible to utilize the card for their prescription
needs.
Q: What if I lose my ChoiceRx card? How do I obtain a replacement?
A: Your ChoiceRx card includes a toll free number for customer service. You
should keep that phone number in a safe place. Should you lose your ChoiceRx
card, call the toll free number and a representative will assist you in obtaining
a replacement – or simply contact NAWBO-LA for assistance. Since your
family will have only one ChoiceRx identification card, it is suggested you
make a copy of the front and back of the card for reference should you need
assistance.
