In the often solitary world of women’s entrepreneurship, the Legacy Society is a beacon of community that embodies the idea of linear reciprocity – a philosophy that the best way to repay what others have done for us … is to do something for someone else. As a driver for the prosperity of women entrepreneurs, the Legacy Society is committed to creating a place – virtual and physical – where they can access the resources they need to grow their businesses, wield their influence, and effect change economically, politically and socially. As a vehicle for greatness, the Legacy Society is where the means to give and desire to contribute come together in a powerful way that creates both a cycle of success and a legacy of generosity.
The Legacy Society’s fundraising is focused on high-return efforts that have a “ripple effect” over time on women and their companies, the neighborhoods in which they live and work, the business culture in which they operate, and partnerships and alliances that ensure the vitality of the entrepreneurial community as a whole.
In an unprecedented act of generosity and vision, Patty DeDominic, Managing Partner & Founder of DeDominic & Associates, pledged a $1 million challenge grant that helped establish the Legacy Society. As President Emeritus of NAWBO-LA, it is Patty’s belief that her gift and example will act as a cornerstone for others to step up – thus creating a true legacy for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
